Brazos Valley Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery was founded in May 1981 by Dr. J. Curtis Garrett with a simple philosophy that continues to guide our practice today:

More than four decades later, that commitment remains at the heart of everything we do. We are dedicated to providing exceptional oral and maxillofacial surgical care through advanced technology, compassionate service, and a patient-first approach.
In 1982, Dr. Charles Gray joined Dr. Garrett, and the practice became known as Brazos Valley Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Together, they established a tradition of excellence and a commitment to providing 24-hour emergency care for our community—a promise that continues to this day.
In 2008, our practice relocated to our current state-of-the-art facility, allowing us to expand our capabilities with advanced imaging and digital technology to enhance diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient care. That same year, we welcomed periodontist Dr. William Wiley as part of the Brazos Valley Dental Implant Center. Throughout his distinguished career with our practice, Dr. Wiley helped advance our dental implant program and provided exceptional care to patients across the Brazos Valley. We are grateful for his many years of service and the lasting impact he made before his retirement.
As our community has grown, so has our team. Dr. J. Bryan Garrett joined the practice in 2012, followed by Dr. Garrett Blundell in 2013, Dr. Chad C. Hanley in 2014, Dr. Brandon Clyburn in 2019, and Dr. Brent Black in 2024. Together, our five board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons continue the tradition of excellence established more than 40 years ago.
Today, Brazos Valley Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery proudly serves patients throughout the Brazos Valley and surrounding communities.
